Dance to Health in Congleton is off to a great start with a successful grant bid from Big Lottery Fund’s Awards for All.
Congleton United Reformed Church and St John’s Community Centre in Buglawton are celebrating as they have secured funding to help continue the Dance to Health programmes in their venues. After the first phase of the programme came to an end in August 2018, Congleton were very keen to keep the two Dance to Health groups running, as participants were truly enjoying their sessions and dancing every week. They needed to find extra funding to enable this to happen along with additional funding to run the groups from July 2019 onwards. They have managed to secure this money through an Awards for All grant, which means all activity can continue in 2019.
The Steering Group consisting of church members and participants from both venues have been working together to secure the future of these groups. It is thanks to them and Lisa Spenser who finalised and submitted the bid before Christmas, that we are all celebrating!
